Let’s talk about fashion blogs… Since this wants to be one, let’s see who inspired me and still inspires me in talking about fashion and style.
My mornings would be a lot sadder without Betty, Karla, Tokyobahnbao, Rumi or Jane. In addition, I read a bunch of Romanian fashion blogs, such as, Style Diary, Roxana Radu, Adelle or Style Puzzle.
Betty is French. She is tall and slim (at least that is what I can tell from her pictures). She has an exquisite eclectic style, loves vintage stuff and suffers from French Chic Syndrome.
Tokyobanhbao is Betty’s friend. She loves beautiful comfortable clothes, layering and she writes about restaurants and “gourmandises”. She has magical hands and illustrates her blog with her own drawings.
The America Rumi is the quintessence of coolness. She just returned from Paris where she was invited by Esteban Cortazar (after seeing her blog), to attend the Ungaro fashion show.
Jane is from Texas and she is only 16. Yes, that’s right, she is extremely young and very beautiful. Her taste in fashion is overwhelming. Her family, especially her mother, a fashion addict and former shop owner, supports her, and her blog is like a wonderland. Jane is surprising, sometimes shocking, but always as close to perfection as you can get. She has a passion for shoes, vintage clothes and dressing up, and she has the courage and possibility of fulfilling that passion.
The Romanian fashion blogs have some important exponents, from who I have my personal favorites. Here they are, in no particular order:
Style Diary is a very well written blog that aims to “educate” its audience in the style and fashion matter. Irina is a stylist and a style consultant. She explains stuff, talks about colors, materials, textures, designers and their collections. She does everything without becoming a prig or showing off.
Roxana Radu is acid, nonconformist, socially involved and very honest. She talks about herself critically and that enables her to constructively criticize others. Even then, she does it in her name, under the brand of her specialized opinion, not in the name of the whole society.
These are only a few of the most representative fashion blogs I read (maybe I will have time to post a part II of this article). I check many more for updates every day, feeling a little disappointed when the title of the last post feels familiar. These blogs are a great inspiration source for me and many other readers, and we can only admire these girls.
